Our Story
As at June 2024, our operations have rapidly scaled in response to the rising use of zero-joint laser edge banding machines in New Zealand. We expect Prolaser’s match options to be on par with PVC in just under a year’s time.
Building on our 2022 announcement, Hutchco has initiated the complete transition of our Hotmelt ranges. This year marks the conversion of all hotmelt granules and cartridges to the industry-leading Henkel Technomelt Dorus.

To meet the rising demand for extra-wide edge tape, Hutchco announces the rapidly scales Projumbo 65mm+ Edging. Developed in collaboration with Proadec Portugal, to cover 95% of all thermoplastic decors.
Hutchco has outgrown the Mt Wellington facilities, relocating operations to a new purpose-built distribution center in the heart of the Highbrook Business Park.
Hutchco’s range now includes matches for over 90% of the panels on the market, pre-finished veneers, 5 embossed surface finishings and the introduction of Projumbo.

Heitz
Heitz was founded in Melle in 1975. Since then, they have made a name for themselves internationally in the production of veneer edgebanding.
Today, Heitz focus is producing the highest quality straight-edge applications from real-veneer and reconstituted veneer edgings and thick veneer edgebanding amongst other things. The attach great importance to the procurement of high-grade raw materials. The careful selection of the raw veneer and the auxiliary materials is crucial to the quality of their products.

Henkel NZ
Henkel is a leading supplier of high quality edgebanding hotmelt adhesives to the cabinet and joinery markets with the leading Techno melt Dorus brand of hot melts. Techno melt Dorus range of EVA and PUR cartridge adhesives are preferred many of NZ industry’s leading manufacturers of cabinetry and joinery products.
